Drakelow Tunnels – June 2017

Drakelow Tunnels in Kidderminster, Worcestershire are a 285,000 sq. ft. desolate network of tunnels that were formerly a top secret underground military complex .The tunnels were built in 1941 and used to manufacture machine parts during WWII. In 1961, the British Government converted half of the tunnels into a top secret facility and amongst 12 other facilities across the UK, formed a network of highly classified nuclear bunkers that were to be used in the event of a Nuclear War. In 1993, the Ministry of Defence deemed the facility surplus to requirements and the entire complex was decommissioned and sold. Today, the tunnels are in the process of being restored back to their original condition in order to become the largest Cold War Museum in the UK.

During construction and running of this facility, six people were said to have died from fatal human error. Throughout the years there have been many reports of activity, including a mischievous spirit who pulls hair, moves objects and touches people. It is also believed that during the sites decommission it was used as a place for satanic worship.

The amount of activity that has been reported here is startling. Many paranormal groups have investigated and this building leaves you in no doubt that there are spirits and ghosts within. Full body apparitions have been seen and tormented cries have also been heard. And not to mention Poltergeist activity.A place not to be missed.

Haunted Heritage guests will have the opportunity to carry out vigils and séances in the most active areas of the tunnels, including Ouija Board, Glass Deviation and Table Tipping experiments. You will be guided by our medium along with the Haunted Heritage team, but also encouraged to take the lead in the vigils and participate in small groups so that everyone is actively involved. The latest paranormal ‘detection’ equipment will be available for customers to use for themselves. This paranormal evening is not for the faint-hearted! Refreshments will be served throughout the evening.
